Despite reports that several English clubs will be in the run for Kylian Mbappe, it seems Liverpool are not going to cause a stir in the running. Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has played down rumours of Liverpool joining the race for the coveted star.
In a Twitter post, Ben Jacobs reports that Liverpool are not readying a €300M bid for Kylian Mbappé, contrary to some reports. Any approach for Mbappé is downplayed by those close to the club.
The player himself opened up last summer on negotiations he had with the Merseyside-based club. In an interview with Telegraph, the 2018 World Cup winner said: “It was not just Real Madrid and PSG; I was in talks to join Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool. I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool… I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco, I met them. It’s a big club.”
