Concerns mount for Real Madrid as Rodrygo exits injured amidst knee crisis
In the midst of a knee injury crisis plaguing Real Madrid, concerns mount as Rodrygo added to the anxiety by leaving the field during injury time, visibly distressed and clutching his right knee.
Shortly after Lucas scored the crucial 1-0 goal, the Brazilian forward fell to the ground, grabbing his right knee. Real Madrid’s medical team rushed onto the field, assisting Rodrygo as he exited, visibly in pain but able to walk with support.
Post-match, Ancelotti, who spoke with Rodrygo as he left the field in pain and without putting weight on his foot, downplayed initial concerns, suggesting it was primarily a muscular issue: “He’s a bit tired; the effort has been enormous.”
Nevertheless, Rodrygo awaits further examinations to determine the exact extent of the injury, adding to Real Madrid’s growing list of physical setbacks.
This season alone has seen three serious knee injuries (Alaba, Militao, and Courtois), an undeclared player (Guler), two players with prolonged injuries (Vinicius, twice, and Camavinga), and both starting full-backs sidelined (Carvajal and Mendy).
In total, nine players under Ancelotti’s management are currently dealing with injuries, further complicating the team’s already challenging situation.
