A heated argument ensues during Real Madrid’s training session

In a recent training session at the Real Madrid preseason headquarters in UCLA, a heated discussion unfolded between goalkeeper Andriy Lunin and Luis Llopis, the goalkeeper coach and a trusted member of Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff.

The incident, which lasted approximately 10 minutes, occurred towards the end of the training session after the completion of specific exercises for the four goalkeepers selected for the tour.

According to eyewitnesses and a video published by Marca, Llopis can be seen reprimanding Lunin, with his back turned to the journalists’ area. In response, Lunin gestured, made aspavientos (animated movements), and shook his head in disagreement.

During the argument, Llopis appeared to be criticizing Lunin’s execution of certain exercises, while Thibaut Courtois stood nearby, listening to the discussion alongside fellow goalkeepers Fran González and Diego Piñeiro, who are both academy players.

At one point, Lunin, visibly frustrated, removed his training vest and threw it to the ground in a display of anger. However, the argument eventually concluded on a positive note.

Llopis and Lunin ended the dispute with an affectionate gesture, as the coach placed his hand on the goalkeeper’s head, signifying the end of the altercation and the conclusion of the training session.
