All the latest updates in the Mbappé saga

As July went by us and August appeared, Kylian Mbappé officially could not renew his contract with PSG until 2025. At least by what was officially included in the contract he signed in 2022. He can renew however, but on different terms.

The twist in the saga is, the player does want aim to renew his contract, PSG want to sell, but the player again has said publicly that he aims to stay. As at August 1 2023, these are all the updates on the Mbappé file provided by French source L’equipe.

According to the French source, Kylian Mbappé does not plan to give PSG any financial gift regarding his contract signed in 2022. He will take all the money he is entitled to. This includes the loyalty bonuses he is due to receive per contract, first one on August 1 and the last on September 1.

PSG believe Real Madrid will end up making an offer for Mbappé at the end of the transfer market to push them to accept a lower price but the French club will also try to make Real Madrid move sooner.

Obviously if Real Madrid are to make an offer so late in the market, PSG, who need to cash in on the star man, will be tempted to agree on a lower fee.

PSG also hired an agent a few days ago to try to push Real Madrid to make a move for Kylian Mbappé now. But Real Madrid are not the only club PSG are awaiting offers from, but Chelsea as well.

On the player’s availability on the market, the French source explains that even if it was already more or less the case since the announcement of his exclusion from the PSG squad for the Japan tour, Mbappé has actually been on sale since this morning. The leaders will seek to receive as many offers as possible to convince him to leave.

Paris Saint-Germain also offered Kylian Mbappe a new contract that would include a clause that would allow him to leave next summer for a fixed price. The Frenchman rejected the proposal.

With all these happenings, Kylian seems not moved publicly. He still trains at PSG’s new training center in Poissy, Île-de-France.

On Tuesday morning, few hours after the deadline set by PSG, he arrived at the training center and shared a photo on his Instagram with the ‘fire emojis’, somewhat indicating that he is ready to continue training with the team.
