Madrid, Spain – In a recent press conference, Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti provided updates on the squad’s condition and their approach for crucial upcoming matches.

As the season approaches its final stretch, Ancelotti expressed the team’s clear objective of securing three points in their next league match and progressing in the Champions League.

Ancelotti began by addressing the current health of the team’s key players, including goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, defender Éder Militão, and star midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Courtois is set to return to play after a long recovery period from an ACL injury, with Ancelotti expressing his delight at the goalkeeper’s comeback. Militão will also return to play to regain his pace, while Bellingham is recovering from an intestinal virus and is expected to perform well.

Ancelotti emphasized the significance of each match, stating that the team remains focused on earning three points in the league and securing their position in the Champions League.

“The final we have in mind is Wednesday’s game against Bayern, where Lunin will play. Then, we’ll see,” he explained, focusing on the immediate task at hand.

Regarding player positioning, Ancelotti discussed Rodrygo’s role on the left wing, noting the decision was primarily offensive and aimed at creating more opportunities against opposing defenses. He also praised Vinicius’s rapid progression due to his attitude and work ethic.

When asked about the possibility of winning titles, Ancelotti remained cautious. He highlighted the team’s consistency this season with only two defeats, aiming to continue the streak.

The coach stressed the importance of focusing on one game at a time and emphasized the need to earn the necessary points before discussing potential celebrations.

“If Kroos was your son, what would you tell him regarding his future?” Ancelotti stated, “That he makes the best decision for himself,” showing respect for the player’s autonomy.

“What is the difference between an ACL injury to a goalkeeper and a defender?” Ancelotti was also questioned about how ACL injuries impact goalkeepers differently than defenders.

He acknowledged that while the injury is similar, goalkeepers and defenders face different challenges in their recovery and performance. Courtois’s return to play is a positive sign, but his recovery process must be carefully managed.

Overall, Ancelotti’s press conference conveyed the team’s cautious and focused approach to the remainder of the season, prioritizing health, recovery, and performance while aiming for success in both league and Champions League play.
