Sergio Arribas, the young Spanish football sensation, has been in the news for a potential move to Bayer Leverkusen. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, The German club is interested in signing him this winter, after failing to secure his services in the summer.

Almeria, the Spanish football club that currently holds Arribas’ contract, has been struggling lately in the League. This has led to speculation that they are willing to sell the young player while they can still get a good price for him.

The 22-year-old moved to Almería from Los Blancos last summer for a fixed fee of €6M, plus potential add-ons. Notably, the white club retained 50% of the player’s future sale rights.

Xabi Alonso, the former professional footballer and Youth coach of Real Madrid, reportedly wanted Arribas to join his team during the summer. However, the deal did not materialize.

But it seems, they now have a chance to swoop in and sign the young midfielder before any other club shows an interest. The German club has been known for developing young talent, and the Spaniard would be a valuable addition to their squad.

Arribas, who is just 22-years-old, has been impressing everyone with his performances for the Spanish side this season. He has already scored five goals and provided two assists in twenty appearances and has been one of the standout performers for his side.

The attacking midfielder has a versatile playing style and is capable of playing in multiple positions. He is known for his dribbling skills, ability to beat defenders, and creative passing. These attributes make him a perfect fit for Leverkusen’s attacking style of play.

The current Bundesliga leaders have a reputation for developing young players and providing them with a platform to showcase their talents. The likes of Kai Havertz, Julian Brandt, and Leon Bailey are some of the examples of players who have thrived at the club.

If he joins the club, he will have the opportunity to work with a highly-rated coach in Xabi Alonso and play alongside some talented players, including Florian Wirtz, Patrik Schick and Victor Boniface.
