The future of Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich’s dynamic left-back, remains shrouded in uncertainty as conflicting reports emerge regarding his transfer status.

German outlet BILD recently claimed Bayern would consider selling Davies for €70 million this summer if an appropriate offer arrives, reflecting his current market value. However, other sources paint a different picture.

The Athletic reports a potential verbal agreement between Davies and Real Madrid, suggesting the Canadian star could join the Spanish giants in either 2024 or 2025, depending on the resolution of his contract situation at Bayern.

Davies’ contract with Bayern currently expires in June 2025. The 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Bavarians since his arrival in 2019, amassing over 106 appearances and contributing to numerous trophies, including the Champions League and four Bundesliga titles.

Negotiations to extend Davies’ contract haven’t progressed smoothly, prompting Bayern to consider alternative options. The €70 million price tag signifies Bayern’s valuation and willingness to listen to offers for a suitable replacement.

The news of Davies’ potential availability is likely to spark interest from several top European clubs. His talent, age, and proven track record make him a highly sought-after commodity.

Manchester United, previously linked with Davies, could still be in the picture under manager Erik ten Hag, considering their need for a new left-back. Chelsea could also be a potential suitor.

However, Real Madrid’s reported pre-contract agreement with Davies casts doubt on any potential transfer for a fee this summer. It remains to be seen whether the agreement is finalized, how Bayern reacts, and if other clubs are willing to challenge Real Madrid’s interest.

One thing is certain: the coming months will be crucial in determining Davies’ future. He could either extend his stay at Bayern, join Real Madrid, or potentially attract a different suitor willing to meet Bayern’s demands, if any. The transfer saga surrounding Davies is far from over.
