Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid manager, addressed the media after Real Madrid’s draw against Betis at Benito Villamarín.

Ancelotti expressed his thoughts on the game, acknowledging the quality displayed by both teams and asserting that the final score was a fair outcome considering the match’s dynamics.

“It was a good match played well by both sides, and the result is fair. We conceded the goal after a loss when we were at our best, but Betis didn’t deserve to lose; they played well, just like us,” Ancelotti remarked via AS, recognizing the overall quality of the encounter.

When asked about Luka Modric’s substitution and any potential discontent, Ancelotti replied, “I don’t know” – keeping his stance neutral regarding the change.

Assessing Lunin’s performance, Ancelotti offered reserved praise, saying, “He did well, showed confidence and security. We’ll see in the next match.”

Reflecting on the result, Ancelotti deemed it a positive outcome considering the challenging circumstances, saying: “I think it’s a good result; the match was good, it was difficult. In my opinion, the opponents played well. We’re happy because it’s a tough ground. We’ll think about the next matches.”

Addressing the team’s performance and the inevitability of ups and downs in football, Ancelotti said, “Sometimes things don’t go as planned. I believe it was a complete match, with successes and mistakes. That’s what happened; we have to settle for this result, the team’s momentum is good.”

Commenting on the setbacks faced during the game, particularly Betis’ fantastic goal by Ruibal, Ancelotti emphasized his overall satisfaction with the team’s effort.

“The unfortunate thing was Ruibal scoring a fantastic goal, resulting in the equalizer. I’m content; you can’t always do everything perfectly,” said Carlo Ancelotti

Ancelotti concluded by addressing the genesis of the conceded goal and his general demeanor regarding the outcome.

“It was a change of direction, and we lost the ball. But they made a fantastic shot, and it was a great goal. I leave here satisfied; it’s a good point for the table. Do you want me to say I’m sad or angry? That’s not the case. I’m happy,” he concluded.

Real Madrid’s draw against Betis means they might lose the first position should Girona manage to win against Barcelona tomorrow.
