Casemiro reveals text message he received from Toni Kroos on eve of Real exit
One of the most emotional moments for football players and fans alike is player transfers. Most often, fans of selling clubs are in a bad mood, and vice versa. But so are the players too.
In the summer of 2022, Real Madrid was shocked by a painful move. Brazilian midfielder Carlos Casemiro made a switch to English outfit Manchester United. He joined Real Madrid Castilla in January 2013 and moved on to FC Porto on loan.
When news broke of his move to England, his midfield partner Toni Kroos did not believe the story either.
Casemiro recalled this in an interview: “When I was leaving Real Madrid, Kroos sent me a message at half past four in the morning asking me if it was true. I told him that if he didn’t sleep, he should let me sleep.”
Casemiro’s anecdote highlights the close relationship between him and Toni Kroos, his former teammate at Real Madrid. It showcases the bond they developed during their time together at the club.
Casemiro humorously points out how Kroos was so concerned about his potential departure that he reached out in the middle of the night to confirm the news. Casemiro’s response, asking Kroos to let him sleep, adds a light-hearted touch to the story, emphasizing their friendship and camaraderie.
