Cristiano Ronaldo might be enjoying a fantastic individual spell with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has struggled for silverware since moving to Riyadh.

The 39-year-old scored a whopping 35 goals in the recent Saudi top-flight season, breaking the record for most goals by a player in a single campaign, but finished as runners-up in the title race for the second year running.

And in response, the Portuguese icon looks to be taking matters into his own hands. According to a recent report from Marca, Cristiano has reached out to two former Real Madrid teammates, attempting to convince them to join Al Nassr to bolster Al-Alami’s lineup ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The first player is Casemiro, the out-of-form Manchester United midfielder who won four UEFA Champions League titles during his nine-year spell with Los Blancos.

The Brazilian has come under heavy scrutiny at Old Trafford this season following his impressive debut in 2022-23. As a result, the Red Devils have reportedly put him up for sale.

The 32-year-old, who was omitted from Brazil’s 2024 Copa America squad, has been in contact with Ronaldo over the prospect of joining him in Riyadh. Cristiano believes the South American is just what his team needs to win major silverware.

Furthermore, Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer has also allegedly contacted current Los Blancos captain Nacho over a potential switch.

The 34-year-old captained Real Madrid to their record-extending 15th UEFA Champions League title, the Spaniard’s sixth win, on Saturday when they beat Dortmund 2-0 in the final at Wembley.

However, the defender looks set to depart the Spanish capital this summer for a new challenge and could favor a move to the Saudi Pro League to earn one last mega deal.

Al Nassr finished a whopping 14 points behind the recently-crowned Saudi champions Al Hilal. Furthermore, Al-Alami lost on penalties to that very same team in the King Cup of Champions final, leaving Cristiano in tears.

The club will need to strengthen this summer. Only time will tell whether Casemiro and Nacho are the players they will turn to.
