There are just a few hours remaining in the summer transfer window and Real Madrid once again look set to cross another summer window without signing Kylian Mbappé.

The saga has been one that has been heating up since the player and his entourage sent a letter to Paris Saint-Germain on June 12 explaining their position not to renew the forward’s contract for an additional year up to 2025.

This caused a series of media speculation that his future may be away from the French club and it could happen as early as this summer. With under a hundred hours left in the market, the move has not materialized.

Several reports in previous weeks has been that Real Madrid will only move for the player if there is a public declaration from the 24-year-old of his intention to leave Paris.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared his latest insight into the ‘culebron’. According to him: “Not just Carlo Ancelotti but sources within Real Madrid say the squad is close. Despite this, with the transfer market, you never know.”

Fabrizio adds that: “Two years ago Real Madrid said same but when they had the chance to sign Camavinga in the final hours, they went for him.”

Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti in a response on Friday ruled out a forward signing this summer aside the ones already made: “I rule it out 100%.”

There is little likelihood that Kylian will move to Real Madrid this summer. The clock is ticking; ‘tic tac’.
