Fede Valverde: A captain’s project for Real Madrid




Madridistas have witnessed many great names lead this Massive club. and it is no easy task to Captain a ship the magnitude of Real Madrid, that always wants to win and that will constantly need the captain to Engineer or Catalyze a miracle.

The most recent example of a captain’s miracle Real Madrid Fans have witnessed, would be Sergio Ramos rescuing Madrid and starting the turnaround for La Décima in 2014 with the very famous 92:48 goal. Then we had Karim Benzema telling the Bernabéu to calm down while Madrid were 2-0 down against PSG only for him to score a second half Hat-rick to send Real Madrid to the next round.

If you had to hand pick someone to lead the new generation of Madridistas it would most likely be Federico Valverde. Watching how he plays on the pitch he always wants everything to work perfectly for the club and his teammates, and last season when Valverde played with an injury for months, it became obvious he was the man you would want to lead the team.

Valverde probably made it clear that he was the man to shoulder the future Real Madrid when, He tackled Alvaro Morata during the Spanish Supercup Final against Atlético Madrid, committing a professional foul and stopping play with Morata clean through on goal. Valverde was sent off, but his actions stopped what was a likely goal, forced a penalty shootout which Real Madrid won, and earned him the Man of The Match award and widespread praise. Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone later referred to the tackle as “the most important play of the game”. Sacrificing himself for his club.

Valverde is only 24 now and he has won everything there is to win with Real Madrid, he played with Benzema, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro. He has won multiple titles and trophies with them already. Starting a Champions League final and giving an assist to Vinicius jr to win the 14th Uefa Champions League title for Real Madrid.

Fede Valverde also won the Silver Ball at the Last Fifa Club World Cup being very influential in yet another big competition for Real Madrid. A versatile player known for his pace, stamina, work rate, and shooting ability, he can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder, a right winger, and occasionally a right back.

Federico “El Halcon” Valverde the man that glides across the pitch effortlessly. Madridistas would be blessed to have him hold the fort for the next ten years.
