Gareth Bale: I had no doubts about my signing for Real Madrid

Real Madrid legend Gareth Bale has spoken about his time at the club, the players he played with and on one of his closest friends in the locker room; the great Cristiano Ronaldo.

In an interview with The Times, the five-time Champions League winner recalls his signing for the club and says “it was the right decision” despite it not ending the way he would have wanted.

Gareth Bale: “Signing for Real Madrid? I had no doubts about my signing for Real Madrid. I made the right decision. I wanted to play for Real Madrid and there were incredible moments. But there were also some difficult moments where I felt very lonely.”

The former Welsh international also spoke about one of the most iconic attacking tridents of ll time; his partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema to form what was known as the B.B.C. “Cristiano and Benzema were one of the great reasons why I joined Madrid, to play with those two and the others behind them like Modrić, Alonso and then Toni.”

Asked if he considered the galactico status, Gareth replied: “A Galactico? I just wanted to play and then disappear into the dark.”

“The Real Madrid players were all good. I know that people talk about all this and that, about my relationship with Ronaldo but I never had a single problem with anyone. Even in difficult times, he was good in the locker room. Honestly, I really enjoyed my time there,” he added.
