Joselu’s footballing journey has been a roller coaster ride, spanning various clubs before returning to Real Madrid, where he once played for their subsidiary team. However, his resurgence was halted by an unfortunate injury, leaving coach Carlo Ancelotti facing a setback at a crucial phase of the season.

Following an unexpected move from Espanyol to loan Joselu to Real Madrid, the striker quickly proved his worth, impressing with his goal-scoring ability and earning Ancelotti’s trust. However, a recent injury sustained after a match against Rayo Vallecano has sidelined the Spanish international with a diagnosis of bone edema in his right ankle.

Bone edema, characterise by excess inflammatory fluid in the bone marrow, is a painful condition exacerbated by physical activity. The prescribed treatment primarily involves rest, but the club’s medical report lacked specific details regarding the recovery timeline.

Joselu’s absence comes at a critical time for Real Madrid, with important fixtures, including Champions League clashes and domestic league matches, looming large. His presence will be sorely missed, particularly in the upcoming Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig, where Real Madrid holds a narrow lead from the first leg.

While Ancelotti will need to make tactical adjustments in Joselu’s absence, the club remains hopeful for a swift recovery, aiming to welcome him back for the clash against Osasuna on March 16. Until then, Ancelotti must rely on the depth of his squad to navigate through this challenging period and maintain their pursuit of silverware on multiple fronts.
