Jurgen Klopp plays down Mbappé to Liverpool rumours

Liverpool FC coach Jurgen Klopp has answered questions regarding rumours over the weekend about a possible loan move for PSG star Kylian Mbappé. The German coach is looking to build a stronger squad for next season after a rather disappointing last campaign.

When faced with questions regarding the future of the French star, Klopp answered: “We laugh about it but the financial framework conditions do not suit us at all. Maybe someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me.” 

Kylian Mbappé himself stated a couple of years back that if he had left PSG, it would have only been to Real Madrid.

In 2022, Jurgen Klopp also stated that: “Of course we are interested in Kylian Mbappé – we are not blind! I have nothing to say about it but between him and Liverpool – it’s all set. It’s all fine, we obviously like him. If you don’t like him then you have to question yourself.” With the Merseyside club’s current financial situation, a move seems unlikely. 

The player himself after renewing his contract with PSG last summer stated that: “I never talked about money with Florentino Pérez. I was in talks with Klopp to join Liverpool.”
