Real Madrid Castilla manager, Raul, is being considered as a potential replacement for Quique Setien at Villarreal, according to The Athletic.

Setien was sacked earlier this week due to Villarreal’s unimpressive start to the new La Liga EA Sports season.

Raul, a legendary former forward for Real Madrid and the current manager of their reserve team, has caught the attention of Villarreal.

Real Madrid is aware of the interest in their beloved figure, who remains a crucial part of the club’s history.

Interestingly, Raul has previously rejected offers from renowned clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt, Leeds United, and Espanyol.

This suggests that the 46-year-old manager is content in his current position with Real Madrid. He has a genuine affection for the city of Madrid and thoroughly enjoys working at the club, even if that means training in the lower division, known as Primera RFEF.

However, the idea of coaching in the top-flight Primera Division with Villarreal is tempting for Raul.

The club represents an attractive proposition, and he maintains a strong relationship with Villarreal owner Fernando Roig and his family.

It remains uncertain what Raul’s ultimate decision will be regarding his coaching future.
