After his third clean sheet in his last five consecutive appearances for Real Madrid, Ukrainian goalkeeper Lunin spoke to Real Madrid Television. Lunin spoke to RMTV after the game about several topics including Brahim, Kroos and keeping clean sheets.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed the amazing streak due to the injury suffered by Kepa Arrizabalaga last month.

In his words, Lunin stated: “Despite so many injuries and the difficulties we’ve had, we’re on a very good run and it’s well deserved. Without eight or nine players it’s difficult, but we’re still winning, playing good football and in top spot, which is what’s important.”

He added: “I can only thank the team because my fingers were frozen today (relating to having to do close to nothing in goal). I’m ready for every game to be like this.”

“It’s more of a mental thing. You can move your body. Even if you’re dominating the game, a chance can come at any moment and you have to be there,” Lunin added.

Keeping clean sheets

Lunin spoke to RMTV also about clean sheets. He started: “Keeping a clean sheet always makes it easier to win. With these great players we have chances in every game. We have to focus on the defensive side of things. We’re going to win 95 per cent of our games if we keep a clean sheet.”

Kroos and Brahim’s performance

“Toni has been at the same level for more than 15 years, it’s not surprising. Brahim is a great player. He’s very technical, quick and intelligent. I like Brahim’s style a lot and I’m not surprised after seeing both of them every day. They’re doing what they do in Valdebebas day by day.”
