Real Madrid showcased their dominance on Saturday night at the Bernabéu, clinching a decisive 2-0 victory against Granada. The goals that sealed the win were delivered by Brahim Diaz in the first half and Rodrygo Goes in the second, continuing his stellar form.

In a first half marked by intense action, Brahim Diaz’s skillful play resulted in a goal. A sublime assist from Toni Kroos meant the Spaniard only had to control and unleash a teasing ball into the back of the net.

Brahim’s goal provided Real Madrid with a lead that set the tone for the match.

The momentum continued into the second half, where Rodrygo Goes secured the win with another impressive goal.

This victory against Granada propels Los Blancos to the summit of the Spanish top flight, with the team now level on points with Girona.

Real Madrid’s stellar performance on the pitch is indicative of their determination to reclaim the top spot and maintain their status as one of the footballing giants.

Throughout the ninety minutes, noteworthy events unfolded, with one of the highlights being a halftime substitution. Dani Carvajal made way for fellow compatriot Lucas Vazquez.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti, the orchestrator of Real Madrid’s success, faced the media following the victory against Granada.

“It was a good game. We were in control and we also played very well. We were focused, avoiding risks, handling the ball well and watching the defence to avoid counter-attacks.”

Why Carvajal was substituted

“Carvajal felt a niggle and we’ll assess him tomorrow, but it doesn’t seem very serious.”

Brahim Diaz’s performance

“Brahim is playing very well and working hard. Whatever position I put him in, he delivers. I’m very happy with him. It’s true that he didn’t have much of a role at the beginning, but now he’s showing his quality.”

Fede Valverde’s role

“He likes this role (pivot) and enjoys this position with his national team. He’s doing very well. It’s difficult to say what his best position on the pitch is. When he plays at the back it’s more difficult for him to get into the box. His work in any position is very useful for the team.”

Toni Kroos’ performance

“He’s a midfielder who doesn’t miss passes and finds the best solution (he completed 122/130 passes in the game). He also wants the ball, is not afraid of pressure and also positions himself very well. His control and orientation are spot on when he receives the ball. Kroos is irreplaceable even when he’s not playing.”

Rodrygo’s amazing streak

“Rodrygo is back to his best and scoring a lot of goals. He doesn’t only score from the left. He also scores from the centre and from the right. In the second half, I put him more on the right because he could have more space than on the right. He scored with a great combination between him, Joselu and Brahim. It was a well-taken goal.”

Modric’s return

“Modrić will be available for the next game. We’ll see about Carvajal, but Lucas played very well in the second half. Kepa is ready to play.”

Teamwork and contribution

“I haven’t bet with anyone this season. The team has to work together, it doesn’t matter who scores the goals. What matters is the collective effort and that’s what I like the most. We’re doing very well and we’re building up a sense of commitment that allows us to keep clean sheets and defend very well. The strikers are doing a great job and helping the team a lot.”

The home fans

“The fans show me lots of love and I’m very happy about that.”
