On Wednesday afternoon, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was present in Paris to unveil the club’s new head coach Luis Enrique. At the press conference to mark the ceremony, the new head coach spoke about the future of the club’s franchise player Kylian Mbappe.

When asked about the 2018 World Cup winner, the Spaniard said: “Everything is still open. I can’t reveal anything because the team will work on it and we will do it secretly. He has a contract and we don’t know what will happen during this transfer window.”

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi also followed with statements about the player, which gives Real Madrid fans hope that after six years of waiting, they can finally hope they will get their man this summer.

His statements when asked about Kylian Mbappe were much straightforward than expected. “Our position is strong. Mbappe will not leave for free. Impossible. The best player in the world leaving for free is not happening. If Mbappe wants to stay, he stays. But he has to renew. We can’t let him leave for free and that’s what he promised the club. If he changes his mind, it’s not my fault.”

It is expected that there will be more clarity as the days go by, with some reliable sources stating that we could have a decision within two weeks.
