Real Madrid have reportedly completed the signing of Joselu from Espanyol, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The deal is said to be a loan until June 2024, with a loan fee of €500k paid to Espanyol. The buy option clause is not mandatory and is set at €1.5m.

Joselu, who will reportedly reduce his salary, is the fourth signing for Real Madrid this summer.

The club has already secured the services of Jude Bellingham and welcomed back Fran Garcia and Brahim Diaz, who returned from loan spells at Rayo Vallecano and AC Milan respectively.

The signing of Joselu is expected to bolster Real Madrid’s attacking options, with the 33-year-old having scored 17 goals and providing four assists in 38 appearances for Espanyol.

The Spanish striker has also had spells at Newcastle United, Stoke City, and Deportivo La Coruna.

Real Madrid fans will be hoping that Joselu can make an immediate impact at the club, as they look to challenge for the La Liga title and make a deep run in the Champions League next season.

The club has been active in the transfer market this summer, with the signing of Joselu adding to an already impressive list of acquisitions after losing multiple players like Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marcos Asensio and Mariano Diaz who left.

It is expected that Joselu will be confirmed as a new player of Real Madrid after the match of the Spanish national team against Croatia in the final game of the Nations League which will be held on Sunday.
