Real Madrid is set to appeal the red card given to Jude Bellingham during the controversial match against Valencia. The English player was expelled by referee Gil Manzano at Mestalla, and Real Madrid is preparing arguments to challenge this decision.

According to Cope, the incident leading to Bellingham’s red card occurred after the end of the game, with the player allegedly running towards the referee in an aggressive manner, repeatedly shouting, “it’s a f****** goal.”

Real Madrid, led by coach Carlo Ancelotti, insists that Bellingham’s actions were not insulting and that he approached the referee vehemently, as is customary after such events.

Real Madrid, expressing continued indignation over the referee’s decision, plans to use two main arguments in their appeal:

  1. No Insults: Real Madrid asserts that there were no insults directed at the referee and contests the claim that Bellingham used inappropriate language. They argue that the phrase uttered by the player is commonly used by English footballers and does not constitute an insult.
  2. Referee’s Visibility: The club contends that Gil Manzano did not see Bellingham approaching him. This challenges the referee’s assertion that the English player ran towards him in an aggressive manner.

Melchor Ruiz from Deportes COPE reported that Real Madrid’s appeal will focus on these key points. The club aims to contest the red card, and if successful, Bellingham may avoid a suspension ranging from 1 to 3 matches.

Real Madrid remains focused on their upcoming Champions League match against Leipzig, with the first leg favoring them 0-1 thanks to a goal from Brahim.

The team is also dealing with other decisions, such as Brahim’s choice between the Moroccan and Spanish national teams, and monitoring the recovery of Brazilian center-back Eder Militao, who participated in part of the training session with teammates.
