Real Madrid defender receives call from Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid have received an offer from Saudi Arabia for french left back Ferland Mendy, according to Marca and SER. Mendy joined Los Blancos for 53 million pounds in 2019 from Lyon and has had an impressive run of games since then.

Last season was probably a season to forget for the Frenchman as he was sidelined due to a very long injury, this now seems like a good moment for him to make a move to Saudi especially if the money is right.

The call from Saudi has been made and they have signaled their interest in Mendy but we are understanding that Carlo Ancelotti still has him in his plans for next season, and Mendy also wants to keep competing and winning in the highest level, the offer from Saudi will have to be incredibly massive for the Frenchman to convince him to leave Europe at his prime age of 28.

Mendy is a fast, strong, and defensively oriented fullback. He is good with the ball and on his day can be pretty decent in attack, he was one of the stand out performers in Madrid’s 2020 La Liga winning campaign, and the very successful 2022 season in both the Champions League and the La Liga, it would be a shame for someone of his calibre to leave Europe during his prime years with the possibility of winning a lot more with Madrid and with his country France.
