Real Madrid made it official today, announcing the contract extension of Eduardo Camavinga until June 30, 2029.

The young French talent now follows in the footsteps of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, whose contract renewals were unveiled just last week. In all three cases, Real Madrid has set a jaw-dropping 1 billion euro release clause for these promising talents.

Camavinga joined Real Madrid on the closing day of the 2021 summer transfer window, marking one of the most significant signings of the season.

The Spanish giants paid a hefty fee of 30 million euros to secure the services of the talented Frenchman from Stade Rennais, the club where he honed his skills. His arrival at the Bernabéu took place when Camavinga was just 18 years old.

In his debut season wearing the white jersey, Camavinga played an instrumental role in Real Madrid’s conquest of La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

With the Copa del Rey victory last season, Camavinga completed his collection of trophies as a Madrid player. His impressive trophy cabinet now includes La Liga and the Champions League, as well as the Spanish and European Super Cups and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Camavinga is a versatile player who can excel in various positions, although his preferred role is in central midfield, whether as a defensive midfielder or an attacking one.

On several occasions, he has even been deployed as a left-back, most notably in the closing minutes of Real Madrid’s recent match against Rayo Vallecano, where he delivered a standout performance under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti.

With 114 appearances for Real Madrid and 88 games played for Rennes during his teenage years, Camavinga has already amassed valuable experience at the top level of football.

Moreover, he is a full-fledged international with the French national team, having represented Les Bleus in 12 matches. Notably, he played a crucial role in the final of the previous World Cup in Qatar, where his contributions helped push the match into a thrilling penalty shootout.

Camavinga’s contract extension at Real Madrid underscores the club’s dedication to nurturing and retaining young talents for the foreseeable future.
