Real Madrid have an eye on Bayern defender – report

As has been proven in recent seasons, the 14-time Champions League winners need to reinforce their defense. Ferland Mendy is currently on sale, as Real Madrid intend to sell him if they get a great offer. This would mean the only left back available could be Fran Garcia who just returned to the club from Spanish first division side Rayo Vallecano.

Real Madrid needs young, experienced and fast players and Alphonso Davies checks all these boxes.

He is a 22-year-old Canadian player who currently plays for Bayern Munich. Before Bayern, he played in his country’s league at Vancouver Whitecaps. A lot of top clubs were interested in signing him, but at the end the only club that came through for him was Bayern.

Originally, Davies was a winger but due to Bayern’s plans he now plays as a left back. He is one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga.
As rumours started to air, he became more and more interested in Real Madrid and now he won’t sign a new deal with Bayern, in case Real decides they want him.

He wants the move to Real Madrid, his intention is to sign for them as soon as possible according to Spanish sources. He could help Madrid not only in the defense, but in the attacking too and also with his mentality. He also understands that Bayern asks for a lot of money for him.

What we know for sure is that Bayern Münich is keen on keeping him, they want him to renew, but they know his contract expires in two seasons and so they ask for a lot of money if he decides to leave the club. Their intention is to either have him renew or sell him for a lot of money.

As of now, Bayern want to sell him this summer as they would get a lot more money for him now, than a year later, when there’s only one year left from his contract as reported by Marca. Florentino Perez is interested in signing him, but the club needs reinforcements in other areas too and they’re trying to sign him next summer when he only has a year left from his contract and can be bought for less money.

They’re also waiting to sign Mbappe which could cost them a lot of money and the left back area can be covered by Fran Garcia, Mendy and Camavinga for now if necessary. There is a chance of signing him, Davies wants the move as soon as possible.

Real likes him and wants him for the squad and if certain circumstances occur then there’s a big chance they will go for him. Although Real Madrid said their summer window is closed in terms of signing players, his signing can not be ruled out as of now.

As reported by BILD, Bayern Munich bosses are frustrated with this situation, they don’t want to lose their top left-back, and Davies was close to renewing his contract until the rumours came flying.

As of now Alphonso Davies and his agent are biding their time and waiting to see if Real come up with an offer. His transfer now could be for more than a 100 million euros, but it is important to know that Madrid needs reinforcements on other areas too and another left-back might not be a top priority.

The relationship between Madrid and Bayern is normal and respectful. Madrid signed a player for the defense, David Alaba not so long ago from Bayern and it turned out to be a good signing. Could this work out too?
