Real Madrid interested in Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard

The France international is attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Real Madrid , who, according to the 2018 World Cup winner’s entourage, made several approaches several weeks ago to enquire about the defender’s situation. Pavard, who has expressed his intentions to Bayern, including playing as a centre-back rather than a right-back, has taken some time to consider his future.

The reigning Bundesliga champions do, however, want to keep the defender. Pavard, like Lucas Hernández, is out of contract in 2024 and, should he not renew with the Bavarians, the club would be obliged to sell him to avoid the difficult situation of letting him leave on a free transfer next year.

Although there has been no offer as of today, Pavard is on the shortlist for Real Madrid’s defence. The French international can play both at centre-back and full-back and has been a key player at giants Bayern in recent years. The next few weeks are expected to be decisive in resolving his future, which is currently at a standstill.
