Real Madrid legend in tears after accidentally breaking opponents leg

Legendary Real Madrid left back Marcelo, who is now a player for Brazilian side Fluminense was shown a red card last night after an accidental stomp on Argentinos Juniors defender Luciano Sanchez which left the later with a broken leg during a Copa Libertadores match in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

Marcelo, after being shown a red card left the pitch in tears and wrote a statement on his social media pages. “Today I have had to live through a very difficult moment on the pitch. I have inadvertently injured a colleague. I want to wish you the best possible recovery, Luciano Sánchez. All the strength in the world!”

Marcelo has always been known for his compassionate personality, and surely this incident is going to hurt him. He joined Fluminense last year after leaving Real Madrid, where he won 5 UEFA Champions League titles.
