Real Madrid’s veteran defender Nacho Fernández could reconsider his decision to leave the club this summer after an emotional appeal from head coach Carlo Ancelotti. MARCA reports that Ancelotti has urged Nacho to stay, despite the player previously announcing his intention not to renew his contract.

Nacho, who captained Real Madrid to a historic Champions League victory last month, had planned to end his long association with the club when his contract expires on June 30. However, Ancelotti’s heartfelt request for him to stay has cast doubt on his departure.

“Don’t do something crazy. Stay here, with us, at Real Madrid,” Ancelotti reportedly told Nacho, adding that the outside world might not be as welcoming.

This plea comes amid a lack of substantial offers from MLS and a reluctance to join Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, despite earlier links.

With Toni Kroos also set to retire after the European Championships, Real Madrid faces a summer of significant change. Ancelotti’s attempt to retain Nacho highlights the importance of his experience and leadership within the squad.

While no final decision has been made, the recent celebrations and title victories have given Nacho much to consider. If he stays, it will be a major boost for Real Madrid as they look to build on their recent successes.
