Real Madrid is prepared to break the bank to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports from French sports publication L’Equipe.

The Spanish giants are willing to spend up to €200 million to ensure that the French striker does not complete a move elsewhere.

Mbappe’s future has been a subject of intense speculation, with his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) set to expire in 2024.

The 23-year-old has hinted to PSG officials that he will not be signing an extension, sparking interest from several top clubs across Europe.

However, Real Madrid is waiting for PSG to establish an asking price before making an opening offer for Mbappe.

The Spanish club wants to gauge the financial demands of the French champions before entering negotiations. This cautious approach demonstrates Real Madrid’s desire to secure a fair deal for the highly coveted forward.

The potential transfer has also raised the possibility of a player exchange between the two clubs.

Reports from MARCA suggest that PSG would be open to the idea of accepting a Real Madrid player as part of the deal. One name that has emerged as PSG’s preferred choice is Rodrygo, the talented young Brazilian winger.

Rodrygo’s inclusion in the deal would not only provide PSG with a promising young talent but also serve as a strategic move by Real Madrid to mitigate the financial impact of the transfer.

Including a player in the deal could help lower the overall transfer fee, making it more manageable for the Spanish club, however, Madrid reportedly unwilling to add a player into the deal.

While no official offers have been made, the interest from Real Madrid and the willingness to spend a substantial sum of money underscores their determination to acquire Mbappe.

The French forward has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in world football and would undoubtedly strengthen Real Madrid’s attacking prowess.

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe is not without competition, as other elite clubs are also vying for his signature, however, they are currently in the driving seat.
