Real Madrid to consider Haaland and Mbappé as future signings – report

Another summer has gone by where Real Madrid signed neither of the two stars it has been linked to the most for previous years.

This summer however, things have been a little different from previous ones. The was no movement expected with the Norwegian. He has just won the treble with Manchester City and has a contract until 2027, with a release clause reportedly included.

With regards to Mbappé, the situation has been no different. Real Madrid did not expect him to make a switch this summer.

Real Madrid want Mbappé in 2024

In fact at the Spanish club, they have had it clear for months that the summer of 2024 will be the best time to sign the 24-year-old.

There has been several reports that the club will try to sign him from January 2024, when he becomes eligible to negotiate with any club.

He currently has a year remaining on his contract with French club Paris Saint-Germain. At no point during the summer has he made it public that he wants to leave. His statements all along were in line with him staying in France.

According to José Felix Diaz, Real Madrid will consider Haaland and Mbappé as players the club’s future will revolve around, but will not mortgage its future to any of them.

The club will monitor the market to see if there is an opportunity to sign any of them. If they can, they will go for it.

The Real Madrid project has slowly shifted from the known ‘galactico era’ which saw the club make huge investments in big name players.

The new system in full force

In recent years, the club has focused on signing young talents with huge potential, and this has reaped some positive benefits for the entity.

Jose Felix Diaz further reports that regarding Haaland and Mbappé, Real Madrid have it very clear and they are executing it: “If we can sign them, well, but without doing crazy things. One, two or neither of the two.” The club said this weeks ago and they keep it.

Real Madrid will not wait, they will go for what interests them most. Either with Haaland or Mbappé or without them.

For Mbappé, whether he renews with PSG or not remains to be seen.

Haaland’s new agent has followed Mino Raiola’s strategy which is to leave a free escape route for when the player wants to execute it.

City know this and that’s why they are looking for Haaland’s happiness.
