Real Madrid has intensified efforts to sign Bayern Munich’s left-back, Alphonso Davies, with new contacts made this week. The La Liga champions, who have long been linked with the Canadian star, are keen to bolster their defense despite interest from Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Manchester City.

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Davies had gone quiet towards the end of the season as they focused on securing both the Champions League and La Liga titles.

However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos have recently re-engaged with the 23-year-old, who has a new contract offer on the table from Bayern Munich but has yet to decide on his future.

Despite Bayern Munich’s €50 million valuation of Davies, Real Madrid reportedly does not intend to exceed €40 million for the defender, leaving room for Chelsea and Manchester City to enter the fray.

The Premier League duo, both in need of a natural left-back for the upcoming season, are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to act if negotiations between Real Madrid and Davies fall through.

Journalist Graeme Bailey notes that while Davies has already agreed to join Real Madrid, the price disparity could be a stumbling block. Should the deal collapse, Chelsea and Manchester City are expected to pounce, eager to secure one of the most promising left-backs in the game.

Davies has been a standout performer for Bayern Munich, but his potential move to Real Madrid could be influenced by the recent title celebrations and the Spanish club’s continued success. As the summer transfer window progresses, the battle for Davies is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing sagas.
