Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois suffered a horrific injury to his anterior cruciate ligament in August. The injury came two days before the start of the league season.

Following the club’s confirmation, the Belgian underwent surgery successfully on August 17 and has since been on recovery.

He was seen at the Bernabéu during Real Madrid’s last game against Getafe at the Bernabéu.

Earlier today, Courtois was pictured in Madrid. He was at the ‘La Vuelta 23’ event. He was there to support his friend Evenepoel Remco.

In an interview with journalists at the event, the current FIFA best goalkeeper said: “I am very well, we must be positive. I came to the start of La Vuelta 23  today so I can go to the Bernabéu later.”

“The goal for this season is to play a few more matches in May,” he added.

In his absence, Real Madrid have signed Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan for the remainder of the season.

Courtois joined Real Madrid in 2018 for a reported fee of 35 million euros.
