Thierry Henry, the coach of the France Under-23 team, has dropped hints suggesting that Kylian Mbappé might leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer, as reported by Mundodeportivo.

Henry, who will be at the Paris Olympics with the French soccer team, indicated that negotiations with another club, possibly Real Madrid, could be on the horizon to release Mbappé for the Games.

Speaking on CBS Sports Golazo, Henry mentioned Mbappé’s desire to participate in the Olympic Games. “Kylian went on television and said himself that he would like to be in the Olympic Games,” stated Henry.

He continued, “he also said that it would depend on his team, and I am aware of that,” strongly implying that negotiations with another club would be necessary for Mbappé’s participation.

Henry elaborated on the challenges he might face with players who play abroad, emphasizing that foreign clubs are not obligated to release players for the Olympic Games.

“My problem is that if you agree with a club that lets you have a player for the Games, but that player leaves the club…some will tell you ‘okay, let him go’ knowing that they are going to sell him, and now I have to go to the other team to ask them to let me have their player,” explained Henry.

These remarks, according to Mundodeportivo, have fueled speculation that Mbappé is on the verge of joining another team outside of France, with Real Madrid emerging as a potential destination. The situation will likely unfold in the coming months as transfer negotiations progress.
