Real Madrid faced Barcelona last night at the AT&T stadium in Dallas. After 90 minutes of play, Barcelona had scored 3 goals compared to nothing by Real Madrid. The talking point however does not stay with Real Madrid playing badly, but how unlucky the 14-time European champions were in front of goal.

Real Madrid had 29 shots in total, with 14 off target and 10 blocked by a Barcelona player. 5 of those 29 were also against the woodwork including a penalty.

There are a lot of rumours and as always, there are even more transfer rumours whenever Real Madrid lose, whether it is in May or September. This time around, only one name sounds on the lips of many fans; Kylian Mbappé.

One of the biggest talking points from last night was Vinicius Junior taking a penalty, which he missed. Something the Frenchman did three times in the last Champions League final and succeeded in all.

Many fans across the world believe Real Madrid’s goal problem following the departure of club captain Karim Benzema could be solved if the sign the 2018 World Cup winner.

He guarantees an average of 40 goals a season, and is a prolific penalty taker, something Los Blancos seem to be lacking with the departure of the current Ballon d’or holder.

According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, after Real Madrid’s 29 shots without a goal last night, there is talk of what this team will be like if there is a number 9. Only one name is in the plans of the club: Kylian Mbappé. The player is also theoretically discarded from Luis Enrique’s project.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will give in and sign the attacker in what could reach a staggering 400 million euros this summer for the entire package. Last summer, Real Madrid lost 1-9 against Barcelona in the United States and there was a lot of rumours too, but no signings were made by the club.
