Toni Kroos rejects Saudi offer

Saudi clubs bidding high for veteran players seems to be the norm now. After Cristiano Ronaldo made his move to Al Nassr at the back end of 2022, Karim Benzema has also signed for Saudi club Al-Ittihad on a lucrative deal. What is certain is that these two will not be the last to make the trip from Europe. The latest to be involved in negotiations regarding a move to Saudi Arabia has been Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Romelu Lukaku.

However, German tabloid BILD report that Toni Kroos has rejected a huge offer from Saudi Arabia. Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze also rejected offers from the same destination. The ex-German international was linked with retirement for several months but has reportedly agreed a new one-year deal with Real Madrid after which he looks set to hang his boots.

Kroos recently broke his silence regarding his future: “I’ve already said that my renewal is on the right track, but it’s not up to me to make it official, it’s up to the club.”

Being a key player for Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti trusts in the player and prefers him over the young Aurelien Tchouameni in big games. The 2014 World Cup winner played 52 games in the just ended season, scoring twice and assisting six times.
