UEFA has vowed to take stringent measures against online ticket touts after reports surfaced that seats for the upcoming Champions League final at Wembley are being sold for exorbitant prices, reaching up to £134,000.

Mail Sport’s investigation revealed that on Wednesday, the resale website footballticketnet.com was listing ‘prime seats’ for the highly anticipated match between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at a staggering £100,000, accompanied by a £34,000 booking fee. Similarly, another unauthorised reseller, livefootballtickets.com, was offering ‘Skybox’ hospitality tickets for an overall price of £34,255.

The unauthorised sale of football tickets constitutes a criminal offence under UK law, and authorities have committed to taking action against such practices.

An FA spokesperson emphasized the importance of purchasing tickets through legitimate means, stating, “We strongly advise fans to only purchase tickets for events at Wembley Stadium through the official channels. Anyone found to have purchased tickets on the secondary market risks not being allowed into the stadium. We also make every effort to trace and cancel tickets that are listed for sale on any unofficial channels.”

Echoing this sentiment, a UEFA spokesperson affirmed, “All ticket holders are bound by the ticketing terms and conditions, and UEFA will take action in case of any breaches.”

As the Champions League final approaches, UEFA and the FA are ramping up efforts to ensure a fair and legal ticketing process, safeguarding the interests of genuine fans and maintaining the integrity of the event.
