On Monday, Guille Uzquiano joined Radio MARCA’s *A Diario* to share his weekly review of football news, focusing on Real Madrid’s recent Champions League victory, marking their fifteenth title. Uzquiano provided a comprehensive analysis of the match, Real Madrid’s continued success, and the broader landscape of European football.

 Real Madrid’s Remarkable Victory

Uzquiano described the Champions League final as “not a great game, especially for Real Madrid,” noting that while the match itself may not have been a classic, the victory was a significant achievement for the club. “The way they won is like all the Champions Leagues, a brilliant title for Real Madrid that continues the dynasty of recent years,” he said. Uzquiano praised Real Madrid’s ability to maintain their dominance, crediting their effective squad formation and seamless renewal process. “Not only have they continued to win titles, but they have continued to win Champions Leagues,” he added.

 A Unique Champions League Season

This year’s Champions League had its peculiarities, with notable absences and unexpected performances. Uzquiano pointed out the absence of historical teams like Juventus, Liverpool, and Chelsea, and the decline of others like AC Milan. Despite these changes, he acknowledged the strength of Real Madrid and Manchester City, stating, “There is a duality of Real Madrid and Manchester City because they are above the others, and losing to the champion doesn’t seem like a disappointment to me.”

 Standout Players and Teams

Discussing individual performances, Uzquiano hailed Vinicius Jr. as “the most unbalanced player in Europe,” highlighting his significant impact. He also praised Borussia Dortmund as the revelation of the tournament, not just for reaching the final, but for their overall performance. “Dortmund have been the great revelation, not only for reaching the final, but also how they have done it,” Uzquiano remarked. He suggested that several Dortmund players deserved spots in the ideal Champions League eleven, alongside Real Madrid stalwarts like Carvajal and Rudiger.

 Carlo Ancelotti’s Leadership

Uzquiano expressed his admiration for Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who he believes has earned the highest respect in both LaLiga and the Champions League. “He is the one who got the best grade in LaLiga and also in the Champions League: respect from the entire football world and the affection of his players,” Uzquiano said. He noted that Ancelotti’s second tenure at Real Madrid is going well and expects it to continue successfully.

 The Mbappé Conundrum

Touching on transfer rumors, Uzquiano shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé’s potential move to Real Madrid. He asserted that the French superstar needs Real Madrid more than the club needs him. “It will be the icing on the cake of the project for the future,” Uzquiano added, suggesting that while Mbappé’s addition would enhance the team, Real Madrid’s future success is not dependent on his signing.
