Kylian Mbappe’s statements to France Football after being crowned the best French player of the last season has got the world talking. As reported by several sources, PSG did not receive his statements well.

About six players from the club including two new signings complained to president of the club Nasser Al-Khelaifi following the statements made to France Football by Kylian Mbappe. One of the reactions has come from former PSG sporting director Leonardo. He has one of the main protagonists last year leading to the player renewing his contract with the club.

In his statements, Leonardo told French outlet L’equipe that: “I think the time has come for Mbappé to leave. PSG existed before Kylian Mbappé and it will exist after him. He has been in Paris for six years and in those six seasons five different clubs have won the Champions League. None had Mbappé in their team.”

Leonardo continued: “It is quite possible to win the Champions League without Mbappé. With his behavior over the past two years, Mbappé demonstrates that he is not yet a player capable of really guiding a team. He is a great player, not a leader. He is a great scorer, not creative.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, we should know more about the future of Kylian Mbappe in the next few weeks.
