Real Madrid star wants Mbappé at the club – report

Today marks the deadline for Kylian Mbappé to extend his contract by an additional year, to summer of 2025. The player, having already said he does not plan to renew is not expected to make any movements today. 

In the last hours, there has been talk of English clubs being a destination for the world star is he is to leave PSG but he truth is, Kylian only wants Real Madrid. But does Real Madrid want him too?

Back in 2022 when he had just extended his contract with Paris, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez granted an interview with Spanish TV show El Chiringuito.

There, the president said: “Mbappé did not betray me. Mbappé conveyed to the whole world his desire to play for Real Madrid. His dream was to come. We wanted to do it in August and they did not let him. PSG did not accept the 200 million offer. He wanted to leave.”

What is clear is that after the player decided to stay at PSG, Real Madrid still did not close the door on him. The player himself in an interview few hours after renewing was asked if his Real Madrid dream is now over. His response was: “Never over, never over. The only thing is that now I have signed a contract for three years more.”

“You never know what can happen in the future”, he continued. The reality is that 14 months after renewing his contract, Kylian could join Real Madrid.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Vinicius Junior, more than anyone else, wants Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti also insists that the squad is closed, but he still prays for Kylian Mbappé to arrive this summer. The Real Madrid players think about Mbappé. 

It remains to be seen how this saga ends, but all roads lead to a divorce between the player and the French club.
