Toni Kroos, whose Real Madrid contract concludes on June 30, 2024, is in discussions with the club about a potential extension.

The first half of the season showcases Kroos’ impressive form, making a compelling case for the German midfielder to continue with the team, as per MD.

If a renewal occurs, the official announcement is likely to follow the pattern of the previous season, coming after the current campaign’s conclusion. With a solid nine-and-a-half-year relationship, both parties seem inclined, and the financial terms of the proposed one-year extension are not expected to be a hindrance.

Kroos insists on maintaining peak competitiveness, not wanting to burden the squad. Carlo Ancelotti’s consistent inclusion of Kroos in the starting XI demonstrates the manager’s trust without overtly pressuring the midfielder to stay.

Kroos, who turns 34 on January 4, leads LaLiga EA Sports with six assists. While not reaching his 2016-2017 peak of 12 assists, Kroos has already surpassed his recent assist tallies, hinting at a potential milestone by the season’s end.

In various efficiency metrics per 90 minutes, Kroos excels, leading in successful pass percentage (94.54%), long passes (8.47), successful long pass percentage (81.67%), progressive passes (10.8), and pre-assists (0.21).

Toni Kroos ranks second in attempted passes (82.73) and successful percentage of progressive passes (90.85), holding the third position in LaLiga EA Sports for successful passes to the final third (89.12%).

The decision on Kroos’ continuation will take time, but his stellar performance in the first half of the season has increased the likelihood of a contract extension, pending his choice to remain with Real Madrid.
