Vinicius Jr. and Arda Güler bring a new year surprise to Real Madrid
Vinicius Jr. and Arda Güler is among the notable inclusions in Ancelotti’s squad for the upcoming Real Madrid match against Mallorca on Wednesday at the Bernabéu (19:30 CET).
The Brazilian forward has successfully recovered from his injury, significantly shortening the expected recovery timeline.
While Ancelotti hasn’t confirmed Vinicius as a starter for tomorrow’s game, he hinted that the Brazilian performed exceptionally well in training sessions, leaving the possibility open.
Vinicius, eager to celebrate his comeback, took to his Instagram to share the news. In a story, the Brazilian posted a picture of himself in a Real Madrid jersey with the caption ‘I’m back, see you tomorrow’.
This return comes after Vinicius suffered an injury in November while on international duty with the Brazilian national team. Initially expected to be a close call for the Spanish Super Cup, he has accelerated his recovery and is now poised to make an appearance in tomorrow’s match.
On another positive note, Carvajal is confirmed to start, as stated by Ancelotti himself, while Vinicius’s inclusion in the starting lineup remains uncertain. Arda Güler is expected to begin on the bench but might see his first minutes as a Real Madrid player.
Players missing out on this clash due to injuries include Courtois, Militao, Alaba, and Mendy, along with the suspended Nacho. Camavinga, although back in training with the group, has been excluded from the squad as Ancelotti aims to have the Frenchman ready for the Spanish Super Cup.
