A Brahim Diaz switch to Morocco highly unlikely

As a player for Real Madrid, 24-year-old Brahim Díaz is having the best season of his athletic career. The Malaga native, who joined the white club in January 2019 after leaving Manchester City, has now achieved his goal of being a key member of the team. In the four League games in December, he started all four and finished with two goals and an assist to earn stripes for the upcoming season.

A 2024 that will start to refute some of the claims that surfaced in October from Morocco: Brahim will not be participating in the Africa Cup, which takes place from January 13 to February 11. Despite the curious leaks from the African nation, Morocco has officially released its roster, and the Real Madrid player never considered traveling to this tournament. For two reasons: Madrid will be able to add a lot of minutes in January since it participates in three tournaments (League, Cup, and Super Cup); also, the team’s top focus at the time is still Spain, with which it has competed internationally in every capacity.

The player’s conviction is in contrast to his public appearances, when he typically backs off when questioned about the topic. “I’m focused on Real Madrid,” he repeatedly says in response to questions about it. He hopes to play in a World Cup one day and is dual-national. His top objective is to do it with Spain, but he has a strong affection for Morocco due to the country’s lengthy football history and the presence of his paternal family. Iñaki Williams is the finest example; when he had no other options but to play for La Roja, he answered Ghana’s call.

His absence in the Nations League Tournament

Furthermore, since Luis de la Fuente hasn’t called Brahim in any of his calls since taking office, he doesn’t feel the need to get soaked in public. He was a substitute in Madrid this season, so he is aware of those. However, his absence during the June Nations League really upset him because he had just finished in the Champions League semifinals with Milan, where he had been excellent in high-profile games. He hasn’t yet tallied for the new coach and feels that he shouldn’t discuss it in public, despite the fact that it is obvious from his surroundings that he wants to play for Spain. He was therefore quick to refute those allegations in private that he had selected Morocco.

Comparison with Lamine Yamal

Currently, Brahim’s season totals (four goals and one assist) surpass those of Morocco’s second top target, Lamine Yamal (one goal and one assist). Madrid, which is closely following the situation, finds that comparison hurtful because it would be problematic for the white team to lose such a key player each time the Africa Cup is held. Since both are top priorities for Morocco, they would like the RFEF to show the man from Malaga the same affection at the Bernabéu that they have shown the Barcelona star.

This discussion will, however, inevitably come to an end shortly because Luis de la Fuente plans to call up Brahim during the upcoming March break, when La Roja will play two highly anticipated friendlies: on March 23 in London against Colombia, and on March 26 at the Santiago Bernabéu against Brazil.

The Malaga native will be on Spain’s squad roster if he continues to perform at the caliber displayed in the previous month, since the coach has always had faith in him in the lower divisions ( U-19 and U-21). Since he would be happy to answer the phone, the rumors regarding the Real Madrid player’s preference will be definitively dispelled there.
