Real Madrid kicked off preparations today for their crucial La Liga match against Valencia next Saturday. However, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over the team as star midfielder Jude Bellingham faces a race against time to recover from an ankle injury.

Bellingham sustained the injury on February 10th and has already begun light training on the pitch.

While he has resumed working with the ball, a decision on his availability for the Valencia clash won’t be made until later this week. Team doctors will closely monitor his progress in training to determine if he can participate.

Should Bellingham miss the Valencia match, his return would be pushed back to the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against RB Leipzig on March 6th.

This news comes as a blow to Real Madrid, as Bellingham has been instrumental in their recent success, contributing with crucial goals and assists.

Adding to the team’s woes is the continued absence of several key players due to injury. Striker Joselu Mato is expected to be sidelined for another two weeks due to an ankle problem, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, defenders Éder Militão and David Alaba are also recovering from separate injuries.

Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti led a training session with the available players.

The session began with strength and conditioning work in the gym, followed by drills focusing on ball control and possession on the pitch. The training concluded with small-sided games and fitness drills.

While the team navigates these injury concerns, Real Madrid remains focused on securing a positive result against Valencia. The match will be played at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday, March 2nd, at 9:00 PM CET.
